Independent Facilitation (IF)

At Wings of Wisdom, we offer Independent Facilitation to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) take charge of their own futures through California’s Self-Determination Program (SDP). Our certified facilitators are trained in self-determination principles and give clear, hands-on support every step of the way. From identifying goals to building a person-centered plan and understanding available services, we help make the process simple and meaningful.

Our facilitators don’t just guide paperwork, they partner with each person and their circle of support to make sure their plan is a true reflection of what really matters. With Wings of Wisdom’s Independent Facilitation, self-determination becomes not just a program, but a lived reality.

Independent Facilitation (IF) Overview

• Participants in the Self-Determination Program (SDP) may choose someone who helps them implement this program.
• The IF assists the individual with making informed decisions regarding their budget. It also helps locate, access, and coordinate services and supports consistent with the participant’s PCP.
• Identify immediate and long-term needs and develop options to meet those needs.
